I am very interested in the genealogy of the Bernhardt family. Because of research and information other members have shared, I believe understanding the Bernhardt family history will help answer a lot of unanswered questions and theories. While doing internet searches related to M.E.B. today, I found this obituary: https://www.geni.com/people/Gertrude-Kah...000007192459483

For research, I was glad to learn the "E" in MEB was Ellinger. This lead to finding this 'free' genealogy information. So far, I have not paid for membership to access more info. https://www.myheritage.com/names/adolph_bernhardt

I believe Adolph Bernhardt was the father of the man who founded MEB. The maiden name of Adolph's wife was Wild and her family was from Bavaria.
Maybe this explains the connection between MEB and Hahway, maybe they were family by marriage.

I understand the information I found is only cursory and this needs more research to confirm it is factual. Is it possible to trace whether Ricka Wild was a relative of the co-founder of Hofmann & Wild? I am not sure if this type of family history was lost during the wars.
